from 12th Avenue south is closed until August 2006
The nearest landmark to the Riverpath is Fort Calgary, located
at the crossing of the Bow and Elbow Rivers, just east of the
Downtown core. The Fort is less than 1 km north of the Riverpath.
The Calgary Tower, a distinctive landmark, is also only about
3 Km from the Riverpath. If for some reason you get disoriented
just remember that if you are near Fort Calgary or the Calgary
Tower you are not far from the Riverpath. Keep Arlene and Paul's
phone number handy - 228-6167. We are most often by the phone
or cell phone and can assist you. You'll need 35 cents for a
pay phone call. The following detailed instructions about getting
to the Riverpath ought to help you avoid any problems.

From the Airport
Airport Shuttle -
This is a shared van service that makes numerous stops throughout the city
before dropping you at the Riverpath. It is currently
about $15 per person. Call for details 1-888-GET-2-YYC or local 403-509-4799.

recommended.
Taxi - Direct to the Riverpath about $35 to $40 for two people - Have the
driving instructions and our telephone number available just in case the
driver is not familiar with Maggie Street. It is customary to tip taxi
drivers 10 to 15%.
Driving Directions (takes about 30 minutes)
- Take Airport Trail west (7km) to
- Deerfoot Trail south (24 km) to
- Memorial Drive west to the downtown core (6 km) passing the Calgary
Zoo
- Take your second RIGHT turn onto the 4th Avenue flyover exit
- Take the LEFT on Centre Street
- Take the LEFT on 9th Avenue
- Drive East on 9th Avenue to the Elbow River
- Cross the bridge on 9th Avenue
- Turn right on 8th Street and then another quick right on Macdonald
Avenue
- Take your first right again into what appears to be a back lane - Maggie Street
The City Centre Riverpath is just 3 houses in to your left - beside the
river - address is 1011 - Maggie Street South East
Calgary Transit
Before considering this alternative please check www.calgarytransit.com to
ensure that the Bus #57 and #24 and the Whitehorn train are running at
the time of your arrival. If yes plan to go to Stall 20 at the Arrivals
Level.
Have $2 exact change available per person and ask the bus driver for a
transfer ticket. Keep your transfer ticket through this journey.
- Take the #57 Bus to the Whitehorn LRT (train) station
- Take the LRT downtown to the 1st Street Southwest
- Walk from the train to the Riverpath alternative
- Across from The Bay Department Store on
1st Street going northbound
- Take the Ogden #24 bus
- Ask the driver to let you off at Maggie Street
and MacDonald Avenue
- Go north
on Maggie Street (appears to be a back lane)

From the Greyhound Station (about 9 km)
Taxi is about $7 - Have the driving
instructions available just in case the driver is not familiar with Maggie Street. It
is customary
to tip taxi drivers 10 to 15%.
Transit
Before considering this alternative, please check www.calgarytransit.com to ensure that the Greyhound Shuttle, the Bus #24 and the Whitehorn train
are running at the time of your arrival. If yes:
- Take the Greyhound Shuttle to the 10th Street LRT (train) stop
- Take the train from the 10th Street stop to the 3rd Street stop
- Walk to 1st Street SW
- Across from The Bay Department Store on 1st Street going northbound
- Take the Ogden #24 bus ($2 exact change)
- Walk from the train to the Riverpath alternative
- Ask the driver to let you off at Maggie Street
and MacDonald Avenue
- Go north
on Maggie Street (appears to be a back lane)
- Walking from the Greyhound Station is not recommended because
it would take over one hour
- Walk from the train to the Riverpath alternative
- Go to 9th Ave, turn left and go east to the Elbow River
- Cross the Inglewood 9th Ave Bridge
- Take the footpath on the east side of the River going south
about 500 meters
- Down the path you'll see the Riverpath B & B on the hill
- There is a small path that leads up to the end of a cul-de-sac
- Enter the Riverpath from the Maggie Street side (not the river
side)

Driving
From the South
If you are driving from the south on Highway #2:
- Highway #2 changes to Macleod Trail South when entering the city
- Continue on Macleod Trail to 9th Avenue and turn right on 9th (one
way)
- Drive East on 9th Avenue to the Elbow River
- Cross the bridge on 9th Avenue
- Turn right on 8th Street and then another quick right on Macdonald
Avenue
- Take your first right again into what appears to be a back lane -
Maggie Street
- It is a Cul-de-sac

From the West or East
- Follow signs to the Downtown core
- Find 9th Avenue, go east and cross the Elbow River
- Then an immediate right turn on 8th (Orr) Street Southeast
- Then an immediate right on Macdonald Avenue and
- Finally right on Maggie Street (cul-de-sac - appears to be a
back lane)
- The Riverpath is 1011 Maggie Street
- Park in the driveway or just in front

From the North
Follow the same directions as from the airport.
Highway #2 changes to Deerfoot Trail south.
By Bicycle
- Locate the Elbow or Bow River paths on your map
- Follow the pathways to the crossing of the two rivers at Fort Calgary
- About 1km south or Fort Calgary on the Riverpath is the B & B
- Take the bike path on the east side of the River going south about
500 meters
- Down the path you'll see the Riverpath on the hill picture
- There is a small path that leads up to the end of a Cul-de-sac
- Enter the Riverpath from the Maggie street side (not the river side)
